FAITHFULLY READY FUND

FaithfullyRead.png

We have established a Faithfully Ready Fund jump started by a $10,000 matching opportunity during Lent (March 6-April 21). Together we are encouraged to be in a posture of readiness and anticipation for God to act. We’ve had a season of prayer, of discussion, and now is the season of preparation and anticipation.

The money raised will be set aside and added to existing funds dedicated to getting us in a better position to purchase or renovate our next space. While we don’t yet know exactly where we will end up, we are taking another faithful step together in preparation and trusting that God is leading us.

Over the next 40 days we are asking members and friends of Sanctuary to consider a gift of $500 or $1000 or whatever a sacrificial gift looks like for you. Thank you.

Sing the praises of the LORD, you his faithful people;
praise his holy name.
— Psalm 30:4

Some Frequently Anticipated Questions:

Why now?
We’ve been meeting at Vista Community Church in Worthington since September, 2017. That’s a lot longer than any of us anticipated. Our latest attempt to secure a building in the Northland community was unsuccessful because our offer was not accepted. We wondered how and where God was leading us next. After much prayer and discussion, we felt it was wise to raise additional funds to increase our moving potential. While we don’t yet know exactly where we will end up, we are taking another faithful step together in preparation and trusting that God is leading us.

What is this fund for?
The money raised for Faithfully Ready will be set aside and added to existing funds dedicated to getting us in a better position to purchase or renovate our next move. We envision that this is not a one-time step, but an ongoing posture of trusting in God for where God is leading us.

Are we still looking to purchase a permanent facility?
Our current location at Vista was never meant to be a permanent or long term situation but we’ve been meeting here for about a year and a half. Since the beginning of 2018 we have been actively pursuing a variety of possibilities including merging or partnering with other churches, purchasing an existing building, or finding a more ideal facility to rent or lease. Some opportunities we have eliminated and some we have pursued but they have not worked out for a variety of reasons. We remain open for how and when God will lead us.

Do we have any current prospects?
We have evaluated several locations, but have not found the right place for our mission and vision. We hope to find a central location, ideally in the Northland Community, with a minimum of 12,000 sq/ft. We’re considering building purchases as well as leasing opportunities. While this is our minimal expectation, we remain open to other ways that the Lord may direct our steps.

How can I give?
You can use the giving envelopes available at church starting on March 10 that can be dropped in the giving tower. Offerings can also be made online or through the tithe.ly app by choosing the Faithfully Ready option from the drop down menu.

Are we inviting others outside of Sanctuary to give?
Some of us are definitely planning to invite others including family and friends that don’t regularly attend Sanctuary. If you have others who support you and support the mission of Sanctuary it would be a great time to ask them to join you to help jumpstart our ability to be ready for God’s action.
