Three heart beats
Sanctuary is about Jesus and people, not a church building. Our strategy for developing a reconciliation movement is building people who love Jesus (God’s son), love the church (God’s people) and love their neighbors (God’s creation). Sometimes you’ll here us call this Up – IN – Out. These three areas allow us to provide discipleship environments that encourage spiritual growth. We hope you’ll regularly attend Sunday Worship, join a Community Group and serve on the Ministry Team to fully integrate your discipleship experience.
The values that guide our mission motivate us to do what we do and how we do it. These four values keep us focused on the purpose for why we exist as a church body and give shape to growing as a healthy disciple of Jesus.
- God desires to have a close relationship with us and we were created to have a close relationship with others. John 3:16 speaks directly of God’s imminent love by giving us his son, Jesus. 1 John 3:16 reminds us that this kind of love should cause us to care for our brothers and sisters as well.
- Sanctuary is an intentionally multiracial, multieconomic and multigenerational church. John, a disciple of Jesus, saw a vision of heaven that is incredibly diverse. (Revelation 7:9-11) So we think it best to get prepared by seeing God’s future kingdom displayed in the here and now.
- God is generous. He is beyond generous! (Ephesians 3:20) We act more like God when we are generous towards people in need and causes that further God’s kingdom. 2 Corinthians 9:12-15 is about a church with few resources going all out to generously bless others because they understood God’s indescribable grace.
- As followers of Jesus, hospitality becomes a way of life. The bible is rich with stories of people who held the welcoming of strangers as a central value to extending relationships and sharing faith. Jesus often served as the guest of honor and the host who prepares for our time together.
